7 Grand Steps (Mousechief)
7 Grand Steps: What Ancients Begat is a unique casual game that uses a board game mechanic to advance a rich, intimate narrative. Via numerous text vignettes that add up to the length of two full novels, its story of western ancestors tells how they influence our lives today. Playing dozens of generations across four social classes that change with the ages, players can discover up to 72 inventions that change the world, brave a score of heroic adventures, and face the challenges of three mini-ruling games.
7 Grand Steps was a 2013 IGF finalist in the Nuovo category and received an honorable mention for narrative. It will release from the developer’s website in May, followed by a Steam launch in June.
